New Guest Blog from Minnesota! - Keeping your Skin Healthy!

Hey everyone!  Apryl again from the frozen tundra we call Minnesota!  A warm 30 degrees here and my skin feels like it’s been in a dehydrator and looks like I’ve been hibernating in a cave for years!  I thought you all might be interested in some fun easy ways to keep your skin feeling hydrated and get an awesome glow with OUT going to a tanning booth!

Hydration!

I found a recipe that allows you to exfoliate AND hydrate!  It’s quick and SUPER easy! I just tried it today and used it as a body scrub! I have tried salts scrubs before and it was very abrasive and dried out my skin!  The sugar scrub was nice and soft! Just be sure to rinse rinse rinse! Check out this awesome recipe from food.com!

Ingredients:

Directions:

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes
  1. Mix the sugar and olive oil in the plastic container. I do not recommend using a glass jar for this, since you will most likely have this in your bathroom.
  2. Add any optional scents you like. I have discovered that adding peppermint oil or orange oil helps refresh you, while lavender is more soothing. My favorite oil to use is sandalwood.
  3. To use: place some on a wash cloth and rub in circles anywhere you need exfoliation. After letting it sit for awhile the sugar may settle to the bottom, so it may be necessary to shake this up a little before using.
Beautiful color!
Now that your skin is hydrated AND exfoliated, getting a little color back in to your skin always makes you feel awesome!  Recently I just found out about Solerra Sunless Tanning!  They offer new tanning options like the tanning MIT!  It’s an awesome way to get a streak free tan that last up to 10 days! I will be honest though.  Don’t base my opinion on the cheesy tanning video on the home page of their site.  I am a pale girl from Minnesota and this tanning might gave me an awesome tan but didn’t make me look skinnier…  What do you do to keep your skin healthy???

Thanks Apryl! Keep the great advice coming! We all want to be as beautiful on the outside as we are inside!
